Lyceum Music Festival is all about bringing together the best young musicians in the country with industry-leading musicians. The young musicians you see in the video are 14 to 21 years old and come from across the country. We spent a week together just outside Zion National Park rehearsing and working with Utah Symphony players to prepare a professional concert at the stunning OC Tanner Amphitheater with Nathan Pacheco. Each year the special guest alternates — guests have included The Piano Guys, Jenny Oaks Baker, The 5 Browns, William Joseph, and in 2018 includes Simply Three. We filming this video was our final event of the 2017 Festival and it was HOT! Southern Utah is home to some of the most WONDERFUL landscapes on the planet but the summer weather is notoriously inhospitable. We woke up early at our Ranch homes on Saturday morning and had to jeep the orchestra, film crew, instruments, timpani, and cameras to the butte you see in the video. It’s located just outside Zion National Park above the OC Tanner Amphitheater where we performed the night before. Nathan was a total pro of course but the real miracle was keeping a one hundred piece orchestra from melting in the sun. The butte is surrounded on every side by amazing slot canyons and cliffs. It didn’t seem to matter which direction we pointed the camera there was a beautiful backdrop and passionate young musicians giving their all. Hope you enjoyed the video and will consider joining us at LMF! see https://lyceummusicfestival.com/
