American Fork, UT – The most downloaded album in the world in the classical music category (iTunes, Amazon) features the popular new hymn “One by One” with lyrics penned by LDS Apostle David A. Bednar. This inspiring composition by Paul Cardall is sung by world-class tenor Nathan Pacheco and recorded not by the top professional choirs and orchestras, but by a local Utah school music program based at American Heritage School in American Fork.
“One by One” is the feature track on Paul Cardall’s No. 1 album, A New Creation. This inspiring new hymn with lyrics penned by LDS Apostle David A. Bednar was recently featured in the Liahona and New Era magazines and was given its public premiere last weekend at the American Heritage Lyceum Philharmonic’s concert at the Tabernacle on Temple Square. The concert featured Paul Cardall, Nathan Pacheco, American Heritage Youth Chorus Concert Choir and Children’s Chorus, and the combined Salt Lake Valley Institute Choirs.
Performing inspiring music and collaborating with world class musicians is nothing new to the students of American Heritage Lyceum Philharmonic or American Heritage Children’s Choir, but being on the top classical album in the world is not something you generally see from an after-school youth program. This is not the first time The American Heritage Lyceum Philharmonic has risen to the top of the charts. Their “Beethoven’s 5 Secrets” single with The Piano Guys sat at the top of the iTunes and Billboard Charts for 48 days back in 2012 and currently has over 60 million views on YouTube. Performing inspiring music with world class musicians is a part of the mission of American Heritage School’s community based after-school music programs. It inspires students to develop and use their talents.
