DESCRIPTION:Concert admission is included with entry fee to Thanksgiving Point Ashton Gardens. The event is included with Thanksgiving Point membership. Thanksgiving Point requires patrons wear face coverings when entering the venue but allows for them to removed if socially distant when in the outdoor gardens. Bring a blanket or low-back chair. Outside food is allowed. The concert is 7 to 8 pm in the Waterfall Amphitheater. For tickets see: https://www.thanksgivingpoint.org/events/lyceum-philharmonic/ \nThe Lyceum Philharmonic has hit the top of the Billboard Charts\, been featured on PBS with The Piano Guys\, recorded for SONY Masterworks\, and has millions of streams and YouTube views. This group of talented youth come from schools across the state to participate in the world-class Lyceum Youth Orchestras Program at American Heritage School in nearby American Fork. These youth diligently rehearsed for three months to prepare Sibelius Symphony No. 2 for a series of concerts that were abruptly cancelled hours prior to the performance. The Second Symphony of Jean Sibelius\, perhaps more than any other work\, fits our current state. The first movement comforts and lulls the listener with gentle sways like waves of the ocean. The second movement introduces a desperate struggle against dark oppression. The third movement is an overactive burst of energy and drive that after great effort\, overcomes adversity and breaks into one of the most triumphant\, conquering anthems of all time! SUMMARY:A Night with Nathan Pacheco
DESCRIPTION:Nathan Pacheco is a classically trained tenor who has a passion for reaching out and uplifting people through music. He has been featured globally in live performances\, including touring the United States\, Canada\, and Mexico with Yanni; performing with Latin singing sensation Olga Tañon; touring England\, Scotland\, and Wales with Katherine Jenkins and the National Symphony Orchestra; performing for Prince Charles in conjunction with the British Forces Foundation and the USO; and performing with orchestras and symphonies around the US. \nIntroducing Nathan Pacheco and Christmas with Nathan Pacheco began airing on PBS in 2012. Nathan has also been featured prominently in broadcasts with Yanni and The Tabernacle Choir. He has been featured on multiple Yanni recordings\, including on the album Inspirato\, where Nathan was featured alongside Plácido Domingo\, Renée Fleming\, and other opera stars. \nNathan’s debut album was released in 2012 by Disney Pearl\, an affiliate of Disney Music Group. His second album\, Nathan Pacheco II\, was released on Valentine’s Day 2015. Nathan collaborated with David Archuleta in November 2015 to release “The Prayer\,” which quickly climbed to #3 on the holiday charts on iTunes. And in 2016\, David and Nathan performed together for a largely sold-out Christmas tour. Nathan produced and arranged his first sacred songs album\, Higher\, which was released in February 2017 and was ranked #1 on Billboard for best classical and classical/crossover album. \nRun time: 90 minutes. \nFamily event. DESCRIPTION:A concert for good \nJoin the Lyceum Philharmonic Orchestra and Heritage Youth Choirs featuring Nathan Pacheco and Lexi Walker this holiday season for an uplifting and joyful Christmas concert\, honoring our loved ones who have faced the diagnosis of cancer. \nFor over 35 years\, the Jay and Dee Ann Nye Family have been supporting cancer services in memory of their daughter\, Jaynie Nye\, who died of cancer in 1980 at the young age of 15. Jaynie’s dying wish was to help others who suffered\, as she did\, with this disease. The Nye family has continued this mission in Jaynie’s honor ever since. The Jaynie Nye Memorial Holiday Concert has become a symbol of hope during the holiday season. \nProceeds from the event support the Comprehensive Cancer Center and Program at McKay-Dee Hospital. \nTickets start at $20. Large screens displaying Civil War archival photographs will help to tell the story. \nLyceum Philharmonic Director Kayson Brown said\, “‘One Nation’ helps our students to connect to veterans in an intensely personal way. Learning about the Civil War through preparing for a performance like ‘One Nation’ accomplishes what no textbook can. Living with this inspiring music for weeks\, hearing the letters read\, feeling the music and immersing the students in a presentation with such reverence\, patriotism\, and love of country\, inevitably changes their perspective and helps them to relate to the men and women who sacrifice for our liberty.”
